As a type 1 diabetic I have to have my eyes checked on an annual basis. This has been done at different opticians, depending on my work situation. Some of the opticians I have been to have not filled me with great confidence. When I went to Mr Ashworth’s with my wife, we were both diagnosed with cataracts. For my wife, just one eye, for me both. Immediately we were referred to hospital. Something that I have since found out should have been done years before.
Several years later my wife was having problems with her left eye. We went to see Mr Ashworth straight away. He fitted her in immediately and diagnosed a torn retina. Within 24 hours she was in the eye hospital being operated on. Because of his actions, the eye was saved.
We will always be in his debt and can’t put into words our thanks.
